In this position, you will provide aircraft maintenance support to ensure certificated aircraft are maintained, inspected, repaired, and operated in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration's rules and regulations and the manufacturer's specifications. Your work will involve assisting in the performance of aircraft inspections, which require disassembly to allow access to various components. You will also visually inspect the frame, components, and accessories of department aircraft. Some of your duties include servicing and lubricating aircraft, as well as adjusting flight and engine controls to maintain proper performance. Additionally, you will perform a wide variety of repairs and troubleshoot problems experienced by pilots regarding aircraft performance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as an aircraft mechanic; including completion of an accredited course in aircraft mechanics; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a standard high school or vocational school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a current Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a current Class C driver's license.

  • You must have possession of an Inspection Authorization Certificate.
  • You must be willing and able to learn and work on Bell 407 aircraft.

  • You must be willing to travel out of state for aircraft factory training.

  • You must be willing to travel within the Commonwealth to provide off-site maintenance.

  • You must have served as a mechanic under FAA certificate and ratings, either as a mechanic or mechanic supervisor within the last 24 months.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Possession of two years minimum Turbo Prop aircraft maintenance experience to include but not limited to:
    • PC-12 Pilatus experience
    • Cessna Caravan experience
    • Beechcraft King air experience

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
