Job Description :

Salary Range: $52,520/yr – $80,683/yr. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, and/or experience.

Ensures agency aircraft are well maintained and functioning properly.

Minimum Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
  • No illegal drug usage within the last year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have an Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the FAA.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license and attend and successfully complete the agency-sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if the assignment includes driving an agency vehicle. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing the agency's biennial driver's physical exam.
  • Ability to operate test consoles, test equipment, aircraft controls, or observe operation of system components to determine system performance under simulated flight conditions.
  • Ability to regularly ride and participate in test flights to observe and collect information for maintenance purposes.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze test results to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Ability to adjust, replace, repair, inspect, and overhaul defective components.
  • Ability to perform structural repairs, modifications, and painting on all aircraft.
  • Must have working knowledge of aircraft repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining and repairing Bell 206/407 models and Cessna 172/182/206/208 models is preferred.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization is preferred.

While performing duties, employees are required to stand, walk, sit, handle or feel with hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear. Employees must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift/move more than 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Employees are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high places; occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, weather, electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
