Come join the DMVA team, apply today!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Aide Trainee, you will complete on-site and off-site training to become a Nurse Aide. You will attend formal classroom training sessions and receive on-the-job training assignments to develop the knowledge and skills to provide non-professional nursing care. In this position, you will receive clinical site training in hands-on non-professional direct care methods, techniques, and procedures. You will also make rounds with the nursing staff at the beginning and end of each shift. You can expect to answer call bells and assist with basic tasks, transport and distribute meal trays, and change and distribute linens. Additionally, you will assist residents during scheduled activities and programs as directed.
This position is a starting step to a Nurse Aide position. Upon completion of an 8-hour training course and successfully passing the competency exam, the 16-hour classroom course, and an 80-hour orientation program, you would promote into a Nurse Aide position.
