Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Research Scientist with expertise in Quantum Computing to join our Emerging Technologies CoE team.

The Emerging Technologies Center of Excellence (CoE) within Nokia Technologies CTO organization focuses on creating foundational AI and Quantum technologies, developing AI solutions for our research labs, collaborating with startups and partners, and generating impactful intellectual property.

We are assembling a world-class team of researchers to drive innovation in the future of computing, sensing, and beyond, while enhancing our core research areas, including video, audio, and wireless communications.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, or a related field, with a focus on AI and Quantum Computing. Minimum of 5 years of industrial work experience after Ph.D., or equivalent industry exposure.
  • Strong background in AI algorithm development and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with at least one major machine learning framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, etc.).
  • Proficiency in quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, Q#).
  • Demonstrated ability to publish research in top-tier AI & Quantum conferences and journals (NeurIPS, ICML, Nature Physics, npj Quantum Information).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional research teams.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Strong foundation in information theory and coding techniques.
  • Understanding of MLOps frameworks for scalable AI deployment.
  • Experience optimizing AI models for GPU and CPU computing resources.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in AI or Quantum research.
  • Knowledge of video compression, immersive audio, wireless communication protocols, and industry standards.
  • Prior experience in developing AI applications for hardware accelerators (TPUs, NPUs, FPGAs, etc.).
  • Familiarity with standardization processes.
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting research findings.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize AI algorithms for video compression, immersive audio, Wi-Fi, and 3GPP wireless technologies.
  • Investigate new quantum applications from both software and hardware perspectives assessing their potential for standardization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AI-driven solutions that enhance our core research areas.
  • Engage with external partners to co-develop cutting-edge technologies and drive joint research initiatives.
  • Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent filings and publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
