As an AI / Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop technologies in the areas of machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and/or computer vision that create new opportunities for 3M and will develop digital products and solutions capitalizing on 3M's unique materials, advanced technologies, and global reach. At 3M, we analyze data, create algorithms, and develop real-world solutions for many industries including consumer, industrial, worker safety, transportation, semiconductor, and electronics.

To succeed in this role from day one, 3M requires:

• Master's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Data Science or Data Analytics in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• At least 3 years of experience developing new technology and/or products in a similar environment.

Additional qualifications that can enhance your success include:

• Ph.D. or post-doctoral fellowship in relevant fields from an accredited university.
• Technical leadership experience of a development team.
• Training/experience in deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, AI, statistics, and related areas.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C, C++, Java, or R.
• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud services and data analytics tools.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to new information.
• Domain knowledge in physics or chemistry related to machine learning.
• Evidence of scientific excellence through publications and presentations.
