Responsibilities:

• Support the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in alignment with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct thorough research on AI-related regulations, best practices, and emerging trends to inform governance strategies.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, IT, and research and development, to ensure adherence to AI governance standards.
• Assist in the planning and execution of governance campaigns and initiatives to promote awareness and understanding of AI governance principles across the organization.
• Document and maintain comprehensive records of AI governance activities, policies, and compliance efforts.
• Support the assessment of AI systems and applications for potential risks and biases, and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical teams and legal counsel on AI-related legal and ethical considerations.
• Contribute to the development of training materials and deliver presentations on AI governance topics to relevant stakeholders.
• Track and report on key AI governance metrics and performance indicators.
• Assist in the response to internal and external audits and inquiries related to AI governance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, political science, information technology, ethics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a research-intensive role, preferably within a regulated industry.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and/or implementing governance frameworks, policies, or compliance programs.
• Proven experience working directly and effectively with legal teams and understanding legal and regulatory considerations.
• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and synthesize findings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with AI concepts, technologies, and their ethical and societal implications is highly desirable.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is a plus.
