This is an exciting permanent opportunity to contribute to the responsible and ethical development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence within a dynamic and impactful industry. Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in alignment with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough research on AI-related regulations, best practices, and emerging trends to inform governance strategies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, IT, and research and development, to ensure adherence to AI governance standards.
- Assist in the planning and execution of governance campaigns and initiatives to promote awareness and understanding of AI governance principles across the organization.
- Document and maintain comprehensive records of AI governance activities, policies, and compliance efforts.
- Support the assessment of AI systems and applications for potential risks and biases, and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical teams and legal counsel on AI-related legal and ethical considerations.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and deliver presentations on AI governance topics to relevant stakeholders.
- Track and report on key AI governance metrics and performance indicators.
- Assist in the response to internal and external audits and inquiries related to AI governance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, political science, information technology, ethics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a research-intensive role, preferably within a regulated industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and/or implementing governance frameworks, policies, or compliance programs.
- Proven experience working directly and effectively with legal teams and understanding legal and regulatory considerations.
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and synthesize findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with AI concepts, technologies, and their ethical and societal implications is highly desirable.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is a plus.
