*Work from home position with 50% travel to locations in DE, MD, PA, NJ, and NY.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

  • Responsible for developing and implementing the agronomy marketing plan, sales, and margins for the agronomy department, and coordinating sales personnel with Location and Region Managers.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

  • Supervises, leads, and develops assigned direct reports, providing oversight, setting performance expectations, giving feedback, and maintaining performance standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements agronomy marketing plans, including communication strategies, strategic plans, and budgets.
  • Coordinates with Crop Nutrients and Crop Protection Managers on procurement, distribution, and risk management of agronomy products.
  • Builds strategic relationships with vendors of seed, crop protection, and crop nutrients.
  • Responsible for sales and margins, using target marketing, competitive analysis, pricing strategies, and inventory management.
  • Develops sales accountability plans, sets expectations, trains, coaches, and follows up on results.
  • Provides leadership to the sales team by setting expectations, managing activities, engaging key customers, and representing the company publicly.
  • Coordinates with Credit Department and managers to ensure credit policies are followed and accounts receivable are managed effectively.
  • Works with managers to ensure efficient plant operations and asset utilization.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Recruits, selects, trains, coaches, and disciplines personnel to develop talent.
  • Conducts training and informational meetings.
  • Assists in budget development by forecasting sales, margins, and expenses.
  • Supports company goals through collaboration.
  • Follows company policies, environmental, health, safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, marketing, business, or related field, plus 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in agronomy retail, grower sales, crop protection, or seed manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong business, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently and overnight.
  • Ability to work extended hours or on-call as needed.
  • Understanding of GROWMARK products and risk management programs is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant professional certifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Willingness to participate in required training.
