The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is recruiting applicants for the 2026 Attorney General Fellowship Program. The following are some program highlights:
This is a two (2) year program for six (6) law school graduates.
Placements begin in September 2026 and conclude in August 2028.
Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in working as a public service attorney.
Fellows work as junior attorneys and receive training and mentorship. Fellows work to protect the rights and interests of the state and people of New York. Fellows gain hands-on legal experience by working on investigations, affirmative and defensive litigation, public education, and community outreach projects.
For 2026, we are offering one (1) placement in each of the following bureaus:
Placements in New York CityThe AG Fellowship Team reserves the right to make placement assignments based on the needs of OAG. The OAG is unable to provide funding to cover moving or relocation costs.
Fellows receive a salary and benefits. The annual salary is $83,594 plus location pay where applicable (New York City and Suffolk: $4,000). Benefits include the following:
A commitment to complete the two (2) year Fellowship term is a condition of employment.
