After School for Kids Activity Aide - County of Roanoke VA : Job Details

Performs responsible childcare and recreation work in accordance with the program standards for children between the ages of five (5) through twelve (12) at an assigned location. Assists with planning and participating in organized childcare and recreational activities with children. Performs other duties as assigned. - Shift Hours and/or Days Worked: Monday-Friday 1:45-6:00 pm ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assists with planning and actively participates with staff and children in activities including games, music, arts, crafts, and playground activities, as well as other appropriate activities Observes all activities to ensure the protection and safety of all participants. Provides a positive and authoritative approach to guiding behavior using age-appropriate limits and choices. Encourages children to take responsibility for their role in the classroom community.
