Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of our products and processes through rigorous inspections, quality control measures, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves developing a comprehensive QA program, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and engaging with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers.
Responsibilities
Define, document, and enforce quality process best practices for aerospace hardware engineering and manufacturing.Contribute to design engineering to incorporate quality into product designs.Develop first article inspection plans for verifying initial production run products.Establish and implement inspection procedures and standards.Determine quality requirements for products and external service providers.Conduct external provider quality audits to maintain standards and compliance.Support manufacturing, test, and production readiness reviews with stakeholders.Lead nonconformance and material review processes.Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials and components.Validate product quality through inspection and verification methods.Document process steps to meet specifications and perform source inspections at external locations.Handle emergency issues flexibly as they arise.Qualifications & Experience
- 5-10 years in aerospace quality engineering or inspection.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with inspection tools, Microsoft Office, and quality standards/tools (e.g., RCCA, 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, AS9100).
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100/ISO9001.
- Ability to work independently and make immediate impact.
Additional Requirements
- Occasional travel to oversee supplier quality operations and interoffice travel between Thousand Oaks, CA, and Victorville, CA.
- Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. and compliance with ITAR regulations.
Benefits & Employment Details
Full-time, exempt position based in Thousand Oaks, CA. Schedule: 9/80 with every other Friday off. Benefits include holidays, vacation, sick days, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and HSA. Salary is DOE, with additional factors considered in offers.
