As an Advisory Services Manager within Optum's Advisory - Forecasting & Insights team, you will be instrumental in advancing healthcare analytics and developing data-driven strategies that improve health outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and deliver actionable insights for our clients. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, accountability, and governance for the Commercial Payment Integrity Savings Logic
  • Develop strategic plans for current state and future planning for a Savings and Governance team
  • Lead the team to develop innovative approaches to provide value to Internal Payment Integrity Operation leaders and Payment Integrity Stakeholders for savings logic related requests
  • Lead the team to manage documentation and SOPs for new and existing external commercial clients
  • Lead the team to manage client and operations requests (current and future)
  • Lead the team in maintaining relationships with business and technology teams
  • Partner with external commercial clients as needed for savings logic related requests and development
  • Direct the team to review and maintain savings logic backlog and prioritize items with key stakeholders and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Direct the team to lead projects with Savings Logic developers to make changes as needed to the savings extract process for new and existing FWAE programs
  • Serve as a lead resource on researching complex and/or critical Payment Integrity issues
  • Direct the team to perform analysis to test and QA changes to savings logic
  • Direct the team to provide explanations and information regarding savings logic release notes and savings impacts to stakeholders after completion of savings logic changes
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the performance of professional staff
  • Provide reviews, compensation planning, and attend to other HR related tasks for direct reports
  • Assist in development plans for staff
  • Delegate savings logic requests within the team
  • Prioritize and manage capacity of the team
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree obtained from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics role
  • 5+ years of experience acquiring, manipulating, and working with large heterogeneous datasets (claim and non-claim based) and using them to solve business problems
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and presenting analytical findings
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, and experience designing and running complex data programs (e.g., extract and analyze data via R, SAS, SQL, Python, PowerBI, VBA, predictive modeling, .net)
  • Proven solid communication skills with experience leading meetings and presenting data insights
  • Proven ability to create efficient and scalable models and develop data storage and architecture solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working for a healthcare consulting practice
  • Relocation to Minnesota

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, Optum offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (subject to eligibility requirements).

The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
