Position Summary: The Consulting Group's AFS team is the primary Advisory business contact for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. The Morgan Stanley Advisory programs offer clients the ability to receive ongoing professional investment advice, guidance on investment selection and asset allocation construction using a variety of financial vehicles in a wrap fee structured account. The AFS Product Specialist is responsible for educating and providing subject matter expertise on Advisory program guidelines, trading support, operational processes, and navigating all systems and tools that support the Advisory business. The Product Specialist plays a critical role providing guidance on best practices to help Financial Advisors maintain and grow their Advisory business.

Responsibilities:

  • Heavy phone contact with Financial Advisors and branch office personnel.
  • Proficiently utilize all Advisory support applications as well as navigate other system tools.
  • Provide proactive education and assistance on Advisory programs with respect to product, policies, procedures, and systems navigation.
  • Assist with questions involving new account opening procedures, generation of proposals for active clients or prospects, trading of accounts and training on various program policies and guidelines.
  • Drive process improvement efforts through feedback to Department management.
  • Work collaboratively with team members by managing call volume and service levels while providing outstanding service.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management systems effectively.
  • Participate in AFS cross training programs to broaden depth of knowledge across Advisory programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in either Economics or Finance (course work should involve investments - stocks, bonds, ETF's & Mutual funds, investment portfolio construction, Asset Allocation theory)
  • Professional experience in Financial Services. Preferably in areas dealing with investments (stocks, bonds, ETF's & Mutual funds) is a plus but not required.
  • Enthusiastic team player, self-motivated, ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and efficient communicator
  • Ability to build relationships across departments throughout Morgan Stanley
  • Result oriented individual who is flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Strong focus on customer service

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $57,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
