Advanced Rehabilitation Nurse - Albany Medical Center : Job Details

Join our dynamic team in the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit as an Advanced Rehabilitation Nurse! We are seeking passionate, dedicated Registered Nurses for our weekend night shifts to help patients navigate through chronic illnesses or injuries.

As a Rehabilitation Nurse, your role will encompass creating effective care plans, educating caregivers, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform necessary treatments while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess and understand patients' conditions.
• Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and their responses to the care received.
• Exercise sound nursing judgment in managing patient care effectively.
• Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
• Guide and direct support staff while maintaining high nursing professional standards.

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program, holding a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory and must be maintained.
• 1-3 years of relevant clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care settings.
• Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.
• Knowledgeable in quality improvement concepts and able to implement them to enhance patient care.
