* Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) at the Metabolic and Weight Control Center (MWCC) collaborates with MWCC physicians to deliver comprehensive care to patients. This role encompasses clinical duties and offers opportunities for independent patient management.

Responsibilities

* Provide direct outpatient care at MWCC, conducting thorough histories and physical examinations.

* Assist in adjusting medication doses regularly and assess for adverse effects and medication efficacy.

* Conduct follow-up patient monitoring examinations.

* Offer patient support and educate families.

* Maintain a safe and conducive patient care environment.

* Collaborate closely with physicians to ensure high-quality patient care within the practice and during cross-coverage responsibilities.

* Address Telemed messages and inquiries from the front desk by the close of each day.

* Review diagnostic test results and take appropriate action to manage any abnormalities, communicating findings with patients.

* Provide technical guidance to colleagues seeking authorization for tests related to patient care.

* Document all patient interactions accurately in Epic.

* Apply knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety protocols, initiating interventions during crises.

* Assist in obtaining prior authorization for prescribed tests and medications.

* Perform additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies, or equivalent in education and experience, plus 1 to 2 years of experience.

* Current New York State professional license

* Board certification

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in lifestyle, nutritional, and medication interventions for obesity.

* Prior clinical care coordinator experience.

* Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes.

* Proficient in phlebotomy.

Other Requirements

* Participation in the medical surveillance program

* Contact with patients and/or human research subjects

* Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure

* Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
