Position Summary: Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and/or Recreation Leader; provides supervision of various youth sports and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be assigned.

• Set-up all required and necessary equipment to start programs on time.
• Ensure a safe playing/program area by inspecting facility and equipment prior to activities or events.
• Ensure all additional staff such as scorekeepers, officials, and volunteers are on time and ready.
• Coordinate with coaches, officials, and staff to start and end games, activities, and events as scheduled.
• Act as a main contact and source of information for parents, spectators, players, and officials.
• Provide proper cleanup after all games, programs, and events.
• Monitor users including spectators, coaches, and participants to ensure safety.
• Ensure proper conduct of spectators, players, and coaches within district standards.
• Document inappropriate behavior and notify supervisor or police if necessary.

Position Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• General knowledge of assigned sport or program.
• Previous site supervisory experience or program participation preferred.
• Ability to calmly mediate and diffuse tense situations.
• Capable of handling participants, team managers, and coaches during difficult situations.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, community organizations, and the public.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain it.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Frequently required to stand, walk for up to 60 minutes, sit, talk, hear, read, and write. May need to reach, stoop, crouch, or kneel. Ability to lift/move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Facility Supervisor wage: $17.50/$19 per hour
• Free membership to the Community Rec Center after 30 days of hire.
