Adult Foster Care Home Manager Cretsinger Care Homes, Ltd. owns and operates 4 state licensed adult foster care homes in Battle Creek. Our homes provide residential supports for adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness who need varying levels of physical, mental, and emotional assistance. The facility hiring has 12 residents and around 12 staff, providing 2 staff 24 hours per day. General: The purpose of this position is to manage all day to day operations for a safe, clean, compliant setting. Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 4pm with variations to assure appointments are attended, shifts are covered, etc. The person in this position is generally always available via phone or text for consult on facility issues. Hours can vary when manager needs to help cover shifts or be on site during other shifts for training, supervision, etc. Essential Functions:
- Role model professional, respectful, and moral behavior at all times
- Employee management - all aspects of screening, hiring, training, coaching, disciplining timely in accordance with policy, termination
- Create employee schedules
- Resident care and coordination - scheduling and conducting medical appointments, scheduling and conducting Person Centered Plans, meeting with families/guardians/caseworkers/service providers as needed, overseeing that the residents are happy and healthy and receiving excellent care from the staff
- Resident funds management - oversee the distribution of money to individuals, documenting interactions and maintaining receipts
- Schedule and assure completion of community outings for residents
- Schedule and assure completion of on-site activities for residents
- Medication management - ordering medications, checking in medications monthly when they are delivered from the pharmacy to assure they are all accounted for and correct, managing EMAR system to match medications
- Documentation - keeping excellent documentation as trained using the various technology that we employ
- Menus and grocery shopping - use available menus or get approval to create your own meeting state guidelines, shop for groceries and household supplies weekly
Requirements:
- Be able to perform fine motor skills with fingertips (ex. van lifts and tie downs,) as well as be ambulatory and have sufficient agility to bend, rotate head, neck and torso, kneel, lifting and transferring people in wheelchairs and navigate stairs in order to perform all duties essential to the health, safety and well-being of the people we support.
- Be able to read as well as communicate/speak and write accurate, legible, comprehensive written documentation in order to complete required training, provide cognitive skill training to the people we employ, complete compliance paperwork, participate in program creation and implementation, and to complete all required documentation. Able to communicate/speak expressively and receptively for all aspects of job responsibilities. Have legible signature on all documentation. Any falsification of documentation is strictly prohibited and must be reported immediately to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
- Be able to effectively use technology as most of our documentation is done through a variety of websites and apps.
- Be able to have a positive attitude and friendly manner, create a positive, caring culture of gentleness for the people we employ and the people we support. Managers must be able to communicate appropriately with employees, regulatory officers, agency workers, and the people we support. Be able to adhere to and role model the CCH Code of Conduct, and have knowledge of and adhere to the policies and procedures of CCH contracting agencies, Licensing Agencies, the State of Michigan and any other pertinent regulatory agencies when on duty.
- Be able to act as an advocate for the people we support at all times in order to encourage and calm people supported as needed. Be able to; ensure recipient rights, safety, dignity, and privacy requirements have been met. Be able to intervene if you witness a person-supported rights are being violated; then immediately report.
- Be able to provide services as they are written in the Person-Centered Plan, Behavior Plan, and Assessment Plan by training/monitoring/assisting the people with the level of support needed to implement their Plan of Service.
- Be able to have good judgment, including the ability to evaluate, make decisions and anticipate consequences. Have interpersonal sensitivity (objective awareness of others, tactful interaction). Have insight and the ability to work autonomously.
- Have a good understanding of the individualized needs of each person supported through their Personal Profile, all Assessments and ALIS information, which includes information on their medical, social, developmental and support needs. Be able to interact and engage in conversation and activities with the people supported. This includes talking/explaining what you are doing while working with people who may have limited verbal communication skills.
- Be able to maintain accurate expense records and receipts for all petty cash, personal funds, and other purchases made on behalf of the people we serve or Cretsinger Care Homes, Ltd. Misuse of CCH's and/or people's funds will be prosecuted by law. Employees are never to borrow money from a person supported and may not benefit in any way from a person supported personal funds, belongings, or families.
- Be able to be organized and demonstrate efficient time management.
Hiring Criteria:
- College education
- Experience managing employees
- Two written, verified letters of reference speaking to character and job related skills
- Valid driver's license
- Clean criminal history - we are required to run background checks for all employees, including fingerprints, SAM, OIG, Recipient Rights, and more
