A Day in the Life:

As the Adoption Supervisor, you will lead and support our adoption team to ensure a smooth, compassionate, and effective process for animals and potential adopters. You'll oversee daily adoption operations, mentor staff, and collaborate with other departments to promote responsible pet placement and community engagement. The Adoption Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of the Adoptions team, championing positive team morale and high performance. They will work alongside the team to achieve Strategic Plan initiatives and organizational goals, while setting an example of Excellent Experience Every time for both customers and internal employees and volunteers.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• College degree preferred.
• 4+ years of leadership experience supervising employees is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and be able to resolve conflict.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to report to multiple locations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience in an animal welfare environment and fear free animal handling skills preferred.
• Experience and an understanding of sales, retail, and cash-handling operations are required.
• Experience in financial reporting and analysis preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and walk or leash restrain dogs up to 100lbs. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment.
