Duties

  • Develop and refine strategic initiatives targeting adults ages 25-55 with some college credit but no degree, with measurable outcomes for enrollment and completion.
  • Work closely with other departments campus wide to align processes with university policies and to ensure that NYSOP initiatives are seamlessly integrated with general enrollment practices.
  • Work closely with Financial Aid, Advising, Career Services and Counseling to streamline support services for NYSOP students in addition to general admission students.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate programs and services that support successful transition, retention and completion of adult learners.
  • Develop and implement NYSOP policies, procedures, and practices in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring that initiatives support the College's strategic objectives and address the unique needs of NYSOP participants.
  • Provide quality customer service including responding to inquiries, scheduling campus visits, and providing accurate and comprehensive information regarding academic programs, student support services, university policies, and NYSOP-related offerings and eligibility criteria.
  • Update and maintain the Admissions and Recruitment website, ensuring that information posted (including NYSOP-related information) is current and accessible.
  • Review applications and make admission determinations following established policies, procedures, incorporating specific considerations for NYSOP qualified applicants.
  • Analyze admissions data to identify trends and areas for improvement with a focus on assessing the effectiveness of NYSOP initiatives. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for executive leadership to make well-informed strategic decisions.
  • Utilize systems such as CUNYfirst and Slate CRM to counsel prospective applicants through the admission and enrollment process, ensuring that those interested in NYSOP receive comprehensive support and guidance.
  • Plan and manage enrollment sessions—including open houses, information sessions, campus tours, and NYSOP-specific orientation events (both virtual and in-person)—to attract and engage prospective students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Serve as a liaison for community-based organizations by facilitating the enrollment process for their students, thereby ensuring smooth communication and collaboration to expand outreach to NYSOP-eligible populations.
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems under the direction of the Director of Admissions. This involves refining data collection and follow-up processes that are critical for tracking NYSOP applicants.
  • May supervise office operations and/or department budget.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall campus community and ensuring robust on-campus support for both general enrollment and NYSOP operations.
  • Essential duties require in-person work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, committed to leveraging technology and analytics in recruitment and marketing strategies.
  • Experience with CUNYFirst is highly desirable.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills to track enrollment, retention, and program impact
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional skills actively engaging students in conversations via phone, email, and the CRM system regarding the selection of academic plans, financial aid, and other enrollment steps.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Position Details

Location: Hostos Community College

Compensation and Benefits

$74,249 - $80,211; Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package including health plans, retirement benefits, tuition waivers, and paid time off.
