This position plays a key role in expanding access and enrollment by actively engaging with prospective students, community colleges, adult learners returning to college, and workforce partners. The counselor will support the university's enrollment goals by building relationships, delivering a seamless admissions experience, and guiding students from inquiry through enrollment.This is an outreach-heavy, student-centered role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping nontraditional students continue or return to college through flexible, personalized pathways.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Outreach
- Manage a recruitment territory focused on transfer, adult, and online learners, with a strong emphasis on personalized outreach and relationship-building.
- Conduct high-volume outreach (calls, emails, texts, virtual and in-person meetings) to connect with prospective students at every stage of the enrollment journey.
- Represent Spalding at college fairs, community college visits, corporate/workforce education events, and community-based partner meetings.
- Plan and lead recruitment activities such as transfer info sessions, adult learner nights, online program webinars, and onsite admissions days.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with community colleges, employers, and local organizations that support nontraditional learners.
Admissions Operations
- Review transfer student applications and transcripts using a holistic and timely process.
- Track and manage students through the admissions funnel using Slate CRM, with consistent follow-up to drive engagement and conversions.
- Collaborate with the Transfer Credit Evaluation team and academic departments to streamline the credit transfer process and support student planning.
- Maintain up-to-date records and communication history in Slate to support accurate reporting and forecasting.
- Participate in university-wide recruitment events including open houses, orientation, and yield activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of admissions, recruitment, outreach, or customer service experience, preferably in higher education.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills; ability to engage with adult and nontraditional audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet enrollment goals, and adapt quickly to shifting needs.
- Experience with CRM systems (Slate preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Must be comfortable traveling locally and regionally for recruitment events and partner engagement.
Collaboration & Culture
- Daily collaboration with the Director of Admissions and Admissions Team members.
- Regular partnership with academic program leaders, student success teams, financial aid, and marketing.
