Details at www.duq.edu/benefits Location: College of Osteopathic Medicine Position Status: Full-time Hours: Varied Position Number: 245806/10-1065 FLSA Status: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Duquesne University(DUQCOM) invites applications for a medical school Admissions Coordinator. Thisposition requires someone who is professional, energetic, and highlyservice-oriented and will be responsible for assisting the COM team in growingstudent enrollment for the medical school. The primary duty of the AdmissionsCoordinator is to manage and process student applications to the COM throughour customer relationship management (CRM), Slate. The Admissions Coordinatorensures the completion of each application and organizes and records allapplication information into the CRM database. Additionally, the AdmissionsCoordinator will assist the Admissions Department in activities such asrecruitment fairs, open houses, accepted student days, scheduling candidateinterviews, and communications with applicants regarding their status in theprogram, and will serve as the liaison between COM Admissions, AcademicExcellence, Assessment, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs departments, aswell as with the Duquesne University Enrollment Management Group (EMG). As such, thequalified applicant must possess excellent communication, organization,multitasking, customer service, flexibility, and teamwork skills, and be ableto work in a fast-paced environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides support for new applicants toDUQCOM: receives and reviews student inquiries for admission to DUQCOM academicprograms; provides advising and support to student applicants, and preparesappropriate responses with supporting materials to prospective student queries;ensures accurate and timely completion of student applications for admittanceto DUQCOM. Manages admissions data gathering and processing in WEBADMIT andSLATE: accurately maintains current student application records whilemaintaining confidentiality; processes applications for admission to the COMincluding interfacing with WEBADMIT and SLATE CRM systems, and in this role,serves as the primary SLATE expert in the COM. In this role, the successfulcandidate will represent DUQCOM, the Office of Admissions, and the Universityfavorably and following established core values and expectations. Serves as liaison throughout the AcademicAffairs Department: maintains logs and records regarding student applicationsand student data from initial application through matriculation, and throughoutthe student's education at the COM; works cooperatively with all aspects ofAcademic Affairs and the IT Department by assisting in data governance, dataanalysis, and reporting of student records in support of desired DUQCOMoutcomes related to recruitment, admissions, retention, and student success. Helps to promote the COM as a competitiveeducational choice by assisting the Admissions Department with asrecruitment fairs, open houses, accepted student days. Thisposition requires daytime and some overnight travel as well as some night andweekend work throughout the year. Completes otherduties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accreditedinstitution. 1+ years of customer service experience. Attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. MicrosoftOffice Suite expertise: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher as wellas Outlook e-mail. Knowledge of, or the abilityto learn internal University systems. Willingness and ability toutilize new technologies relevant to the position. Valid PA Driver's license. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications,Journalism, or Life Sciences major preferred. Previous work experience in a medicalschool setting. Upholdsthe highest standards for regionally accredited, competitive programs. 1+ years of higher education-related workexperience preferred. Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing: Strong communication skills, both written andverbal. Demonstrated ability to utilize technologiesincluding CRM, databases, spreadsheets, and marketing applications. Exceptional interpersonal and rapport-buildingskills - well-developed listening skills, patience, and empathy. Ability to manage time and organize workflowto ensure all call situations are handled efficiently and timely. Ability to work autonomously and at times, underhigh-stress situations.
