Admissions Representative
Louisiana Tech invites applications from highly motivated and energetic individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment. The position will report to Admissions with a dotted line to the dean of the College of Business.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with prospective freshman and transfer students and their families
- Coordinate tours of the college and facilitate meetings with faculty members in the various majors
- Work with student ambassador groups and engage them in the campus visit experience to help ensure a robust and engaging campus visit experience
- Facilitate a communication plan, including social media, traditional mail, text, email, and telephone for the purpose of increasing the enrollment yield of admitted students within each college
- Know Tech's admission requirements, what scholarship opportunities are available for students, what majors are housed in each college, and which employers and graduate schools are recruiting our students
- Meet with current students/student organizations to assist with obtaining testimonials, photos, and videos to further enhance Tech's ability to effectively communicate our story to prospective and admitted students
- Travel to various recruiting events on an as-needed basis (valid driver's license required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; an academic major from within the hiring college is strongly desired
- Previous experience in college admissions, recruiting, or orientation (one to three years)
- Excellent communication skills and extremely detail-oriented
- Strong customer service and people skills
- Proven ability to plan, work, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated proficiency and love of technology; extensive use of Excel, Word, and other campus computing systems (Slate and Workday) is required
- Familiarity with higher education desirable
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
