The position is responsible for the development and implementation of a specific inquiry cultivation program. The Admission Counselor works collaboratively in the overall planning and operations of the University's admissions, including strategic recruitment planning, marketing, and policy/communication development, along with coordinating recruitment-related programs. This is an on-campus position that requires some weekends and evenings. Other duties may be assigned by the Director or Vice President.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inquiry Management: Oversee territory-specific inquiry populations, guiding prospects through the admissions funnel to generate pre-awards, visits, applications, and admits.
- Pre-Award Process and Communication Plans: Support pre-award processes, group visit follow-ups, and communication plans for inquiries.
- Student Engagement: Participate in tele-counseling, deliver presentations on the university and financial aid, attend college fairs, conduct high school visits, and follow up with applicants.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships and execute follow-up activities aligned with strategic enrollment goals.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and utilize data on market trends, prospects, applicants, admitted, and enrolled students to improve recruitment efforts.
- Collaboration: Partner with staff to plan, implement, and evaluate programs aimed at enrolling a diverse and talented student body.
- Marketing Strategy: Develop an annual marketing plan to convert inquiries into applications.
- Reporting: Prepare and review necessary reports.
- Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Territory Management: Explain admissions decisions and university policies to parents and students, highlighting exceptions as needed.
- Daily Tasks: Review applicant files, manage upgrades, and handle major changes within the territory.
Education and/or Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
