Position SummaryWorks under general supervision to perform difficult and responsible clerical work and perform the duties of the first-line supervisor with wide latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgmental to act in a lead capacity and to do related work as required.Pay Grade: 43Salary Commensurate with Experience and EducationMinimum Qualifications1. Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work; AND2. High School diploma or possess a GED; OR3. Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarter hours).4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Duties and Responsibilities1. Trains all clerical personnel using training manuals and on-the-job training.2. Ensures adequate personnel are available for daily operations, prepare work schedules, and makes job assignments for personnel.3. Maintains employee time reports, evaluations, and personnel records.4. Prepares and reviews weekly and monthly reports, documents all expungements issued through the court system, provides information needed to complete budget requests.5. Maintains office machines and reports any problems to the supervisor.6. Provides court testimony as keeper-of-records; receives court subpoenas issued by appropriate authority; provides services, as required by law.7. Travels as keeper-of-records to give court testimony for Federal Court, Juvenile Court, and out-of-town law enforcement agencies.8. Sends criminal information to law enforcement agencies as requested.9. Keeps Record Supervisor abreast of needs and concerns.10. Performs other related duties as required or directed.KSAs1. Knowledge of laws, ordinances, rules and regulations affecting the record-keeping operations of a department and skill in applying them.2. Ability to plan, organize, and maintain an even flow of work.3. Ability to maintain continuous mental alertness and reasoning ability.4. Ability to perform accurate arithmetical computations.5. Ability to spell, punctuate, and use grammar correctly.6. Ability to develop relationships and deal courteously with Sheriff's Office employees and other departments and subordinates.7.
