Position is an Administrative Professional II position for Weekend Box Office Clerk The Kelsey Theatre Weekend Box Office reports to the Kelsey Theatre Manager, and the weekday Box Office Manager. He/she is responsible for the overall efficient operation of the box office on the days of public performances. He/she processes phone and mail orders, answers phones, returns phone calls, processes online ticket orders and sells tickets at the window during box office hours handling any issues efficiently and with good customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Sell tickets during box office hours, process box office reports, prepare timely deposits and coordinate ticket sales with other staff. Answer phone calls, give directions if necessary Ability to learn and quickly operate computerized ticketing program. Ability to work independently under pressure, Good customer service skills, Good money handling and change making skills. DEPENDABILITY and punctuality a must. Job entails a lot of standing at the box office window. General Schedule/Hours: Fridays from 6:30pm-8:30pm; Saturdays 12:30pm-8:30pm; Sundays 12:30pm-2:30pm and other hours as needed Competencies: Requirements To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Reliability is necessary, as there is only one box office clerk on duty at a time and we cannot have a show without a box office clerk. Box Office clerk must be good at handling money and good at customer service, handling problems with tact and efficiency. The ability to learn and master box office ticketing program, sell tickets and make change for larger bills when necessary. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES High School Diploma required. Extensive database management and Microsoft 365 skills required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Associates degree preferred. Accuracy and attention to detail a must based on standards by the Division and Regulatory agencies.
