This position travels to all courthouses within the Judicial Circuit with a headquarters office currently located at the Indian River County Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida.Job DescriptionThis position supervises Magistrates, Hearing Officers, an Administrative Assistant, and works under the general supervision of the Chief Judge and Trial Court Administrator. It is a working administrative position and the successful candidate will carry a circuit-wide caseload relating to, but not all inclusive, civil and/or family related hearings, draft reports and recommendations on matters referred for hearing by judges. The position is responsible for setting referred cases for hearing, conducting hearings, making determinations on cases, and preparing findings and recommendations for the parties and referring judge's consideration.Education and Training GuidelinesEducation – Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required.Experience – Five years of work experience in the practice of law, including three years in family or civil law and at least one year of administrative or supervisory experience. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.Certification and Special Requirements – Membership in Good Standing in the Florida Bar.
