Description

SUMMARY

Supports the registrar's office by managing student records, processing registration, and handling transcript requests. Ensure compliance with policies and provide support to students and faculty. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for the role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Process add/drops forms.

* Process transcript requests and maintain the National Student Clearinghouse processes.

* Process transfer hours in the Student Information System (SIS) to the HCC transcript.

* Complete graduation checks.

* Assist and maintain implementation of veteran's programs.

* Assist the Registrar in communication of important dates via email, social media, and other appropriate avenues of communication.

* Implement and maintain the Kansas Systemwide Transfer General Education requirement.

* Complete purchase requisitions, travel requests, and other office forms.

* Coordinate graduation; applications and faculty and student participation.

* Assist the Registrar in communicating various processes to students that will aid them in obtaining transcripts, dropping/adding courses, preparing for graduation, and other appropriate information.

* Work with the Registrar to implement and maintain the Degree Audit in the SIS system.

* Read, prioritize and route incoming mail to the Registrar's office.

* Maintain confidentiality regarding all student records.

* Oher duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or experience

Associate degree required, bachelor's degree preferred; Prior experience in a college registrar's, financial aid, advising, and/or business office helpful. Must have good computer and customer service skills.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to compose and type routine correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate grade point averages and amounts such as fees, discounts, interest, percentages, and other costs associated with enrollment, financial aid, book rental, etc.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Abilities and Skills

Must have good organizing, coordinating, and decision-making abilities and the ability to retain composure under pressure. Must be a self-starter. Ability to work without close supervision and handle a varied job situation.
