Sauk Valley Community College seeks innovative individual for a full-time support opening as an Administrative Assistant to Dean of Student Services and Police Academy.

FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

Provide administrative and technical support for the Dean of Student Services and the Police Academy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assists in supervising and preparing the budgets for Student Services and Police Academy.

* Schedule appointments for the dean, director, and coordinator as needed. Assist in scheduling of adjunct faculty; ensure that the paperwork and training logs are accurate; communicate all pertinent information to Human Resources for accurate record keeping.

* Prepare and process code of conduct deliverables and documents, and assist with the scheduling of code of conduct meetings.

* Assist in the processing of Student Services paperwork and scheduling of meetings related to (but not limited to) academic suspension, appeals, tuition refunds, and CAREER agreements. Maintain communication with police agencies and recruits, including but not limited to: obtaining and monitoring completion of recruit forms, recruit notes, completion letters, certificates, memos, and absence forms, and scanning all necessary documentation into Filebound.

* Serve as a backup to the Student Services front desk. Proctor exams and assist with scenarios, physical testing, and graduations as needed.

* Assist in preparing the student handbook and Student Services documents. Maintain and update Canvas classes; update modules, instructions, and include instructor's PowerPoints.

* Work with Student Services and Academics to create and maintain the college calendar.

* Assist with coordinating various department events (i.e., Job Fair, Child Fair, Manufacturing Day, Junior Vet University etc.). Schedule the Director and Assistant Director in calendar; book off-campus activities (e.g., conferences).

* Submit purchase orders, order supplies and textbooks, perform follow-up, receive supplies, and deliver as required.

* Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's degree with two years of experience in business or education, word processing, organizational skills, and strong collaborative communication skills required.
