Administrative Assistant

American Water is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to handle day to day office operations in Woodridge, IL.

Position Information:

$18.50.00 - $29.38 hourly

The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. Primary Role

Responsible for performing administrative duties including accounting, reporting, clerical, customer service and internal and external event hospitality. This role will require occasional (approx. 15%) of managing/colaborating on external events.

Key Accountabilities
  • Proofs material for accuracy and context
  • Establishes and maintains files and records
  • Provides back up support for payroll activities
  • Provides daily front desk receptionist coverage and as assigned in the absence of other personnel
  • Assists with pre/post internal meeting arrangements
  • Assists with the external coordinating and scheduling of various community events/engagement (15% of responsibilities)
  • Administers process for purchasing and/or receipt materials
  • Various office duties including ordering and maintaining supplies, filing various records, tying memos
  • Process miscellaneous invoices and disbursement requests
Knowledge/Skills
  • General knowledge of clerical and business practices
  • Organized, inter-personal, teamwork, customer service, hospitality for internal and external events
Experience/Education
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Associates degree desirable
  • 3+ years office administration experience; including working directly with public
Certifications/Licenses

Active, state driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check

Work Environment

Standard office environment.

Travel Requirements

Local to occasional community events

Work Schedule
  • Full-time
  • Monday-Friday, day shift with expectation to be onsite everyday.
