Salary: $45,979.02 - $59,772.73 AnnuallyLocation : 1235 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NCJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 202502726Department: Public Health DepartmentDivision: NursingOpening Date: 08/18/2025Closing Date: 8/25/2025 11:59 PM EasternSalary Grade: 107 Position Overview **Hiring rate will be determined based on qualifications and internal equityThe primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Medical Director and their team (Advanced Practice Providers, Laboratory Supervisor), as well as to the Director of Nursing and their team (Nursing Supervisors). The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative tasks to help manage operational details, allowing the Medical Director and Director of Nursing to focus on their leadership, supervisory, and professional responsibilities. Examples of DutiesDuties for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide administrative support to the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and their teams.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for meetings, including recording and taking minutes.
  • Annually review existing and new Nursing Division standing orders, obtain the Medical Director's signature, and properly archive them.
  • Maintain a licensed Nursing personnel database for the Nursing Division.
  • Serve as liaison for Colleges and Nursing programs and coordinates nursing students clinical schedules.
  • Serve as Human Resources liaison to all areas directly supervised by the Medical Director and Director of Nursing.
  • Coordinate required onboarding paperwork for all new employees (Full-time and Temporary).
  • Manage financial records of conference/training registrations and travel for the Medical Director and Director of Nursing.
  • Maintain and report financial records for Medical Administration and medical/laboratory staff purchases.
Minimum QualificationsCompletion of high school or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative/office management experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and two years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative, office management experience; or completion of a four-year program in a college or university preferably with major emphasis on coursework in business administration, public administration, or other related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited universities.Applicants who have obtained their education outside of the U.S. and its territories must have their academic degrees validated as equivalent to the degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is a referral resource for applicants who need to have their credentials certified as equivalent.   • Proficient in using correct grammar, vocabulary, and spelling.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and determine the appropriate course of action in handling a variety of public and internal inquires related to the Health Department's operations and services.
Must have or obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Background check and negative drug test are required.
