The AA2 will support the Region 2 (New York City) Regional Director (RD) by:

• Providing administrative support to the RD, including telephone calls, visitors, arranging travel, prepare and submit expense reports, maintaining Outlook calendar, and meeting coordination;
• Preparing and managing written and other RD communications, draft responses and maintaining files;
• Keeping current Regional staff rosters, phone numbers, office locations, and Outlook email lists;
• Managing and tracking Division out of state travel request submissions;
• Assessing regional training needs, locating appropriate training, schedule and tracking completion;
• Establishing and maintaining office procedures, as necessary;
• Coordinating information flow by acting as a liaison among key staff and other employees;
• Tracking and coordinating regional responses in cooperation with the Commissioner Correspondence Unit;
• Managing reports related to regional processes, including vacancy reports, budgets, annual evaluations, etc.;
• Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Non-competitive: high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma; and three years of experience in administrative support, which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and management of an office. Certification (e.g., IAAP Certified Administrative Professional), diploma, or associate's degree in office administration, secretarial science, administrative assistance, paralegal, business technology, or office technology substitutes for two years of experience.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
