DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Administrative Assistant 1, you will play a crucial role in managing a diverse range of administrative functions that encompass purchasing, human resources, timekeeping, and budgetary analysis. Your responsibilities will include overseeing clerical staff, ensuring accountability for incoming revenue, and providing exceptional visitor services. This position requires a thorough understanding of statewide Park and Department administrative rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, as you will be tasked with making informed decisions that impact the operational efficiency of the Center. In addition to these core duties, you will be responsible for procuring materials and services, preparing budget estimates while closely monitoring expenditures, greeting visitors with professionalism, drafting correspondence, and maintaining accurate time and attendance records, including tracking employee absences within the park.
