Adjunct Faculty Position Provides quality education and maintains high standards of academic excellence in teaching assigned courses in the discipline. The Adjunct hybrid faculty roles teach assigned courses in person and asynchronously online. This role also maintains office hours as assigned.Campus Location: South Charlotte, NC, Strayer CampusAddress: 9101 Kings Parade Blvd #200, Charlotte, NC 28273Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can change lives?Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academic team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for an undergraduate-level Mathematics class- MAT110/210 (Using Math to Inform Your World/Data-Driven Decisions) for the upcoming Fall quarter, starting October 6th in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the in-person and online modalities. This role requires 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours every week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus. The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.Strayer Adjunct Faculty are not just instructors; they are also coaches and mentors. We believe in a strong faculty-student relationship and building a community in the classroom.Job Skills:Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Excellent oral and written communication skills.Effective time management skills.Work Experience:Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.Evidence of academic or professional experience in data analysis, quantitative analysis tools, quantitative communication, technology or adaptive technology preferred.Evidence of academic or professional experience with mathematical reasoning, quantitative analysis tools, and quantitative communication preferred.Education:All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics or math education or statistics or physics required ORMaster's degree in any field with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate course work in mathematics required.Certificates, licenses, and registrations:Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).Other:Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).Must be able to lift 25 lbs.Typical office setting.Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.Access information using a computer.Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.Effectively cope with stressful situations.Strong mental acuity.Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.Who We Are:Work is changing.
