Primary Function of Organizational Unit To offer a quality major program in mathematics, with options in statistics, secondary mathematics education, and a minor in mathematics. To offer general education and support mathematics courses in order to develop students' problem solving and critical thinking skills within the framework of a liberal arts education. - Applicants must have a M.S. in Mathematics.
- Candidates must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to a liberal arts education in a diverse educational community.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Ph.D. in Mathematics from a 4-year accredited institution.
- Knowledge of the use of technology in teaching Mathematics.
- One to five years of college teaching experience at a culturally diverse liberal arts institution.
- Evidence of successful teaching of college Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus and Statistics or equivalent preferred.
- Participate in curriculum review and evaluation, advise students, serve on department committees.
