Adjunct Faculty- Computer SciencePriority Application Date: August 18, 2025, open until filled. Anticipated Start Date: January 20, 2026 POSITION DESCRIPTION Taft College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code 8748.25). We are seeking lecturers who have the ability to teach in the above area for inclusion in a pool for the Fall 2025 semester and beyond. Note: Taft College Computer Science course(s) for this position will be in-person teaching opportunities may include teaching day or evening courses. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualifications for this adjunct lecturer pool can be met in one of five ways:
  • Master's in computer science or computer engineering OR Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting or engineering; OR
  • Bachelor's in engineering AND Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration; OR
  • Bachelor's in mathematics AND Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND A master's degree in information science, computer information systems, or information systems; OR
  • An Equivalency Determination may be submitted along with all application materials to be considered for this position if you do not meet the stated minimum qualifications.   • Must show a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. COMPENSATION $77.02-$90.50 per hour. REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION:
