- Deliver high-quality instruction in utility lineman techniques, safety protocols, equipment usage, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional handouts.
- Conduct hands-on training in pole climbing, equipment operation, and rigging techniques.
- Teach electrical systems, overhead and underground distribution, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and industry regulations during instruction.
- Assess student learning through assignments, practical exams, and evaluations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students to support their academic and career goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in utility lineman practices.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent experience in the utility industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience as a utility lineman.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills.
- Ability to conduct hands-on training in outdoor and lab environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching or training experience in a technical education setting.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with both overhead and underground systems.
- Familiarity with instructional technology and learning management systems (LMS).
