The City of Kentwood is looking for an energetic, compassionate, and forward-thinking Adaptive Recreation Program Coordinator to help us continue providing inclusive, enriching experiences for individuals of all abilities.
As part of the Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department, you'll take the lead in planning and delivering a wide variety of inclusive programs for individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, and neurodivergent disabilities. From sports leagues to outdoor adventures to wellness workshops---you'll be at the heart of building connection, confidence, and community through recreation. This isn't your typical desk job. You'll be engaging directly with participants, supervising part-time staff, collaborating with community partners, and ensuring every program you lead is fun, welcoming, and impactful.

About You:
You're someone who believes everyone deserves to play, explore, and connect---regardless of ability. You have experience creating adaptive programs or working in therapeutic recreation. You're energized by being out in the community, love working with diverse groups of people, and bring a solution-focused mindset to your work.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bonus if you're CPR/First Aid certified or have lifeguard certification (or willing to get certified within a year).
