Job Opening: Activities DirectorLocation: The Gardens at Orangeville, Skilled Nursing Facility in Orangeville, PA Position Type: Full-Time The Gardens at Orangeville is currently seeking an enthusiastic Activities Director to lead the planning and implementation of engaging and enriching activity programs for our residents. This role is vital in ensuring that the emotional, social, and recreational needs of our residents are met on an individual basis, contributing to their overall well-being and quality of life. Key Responsibilities:
  • Activity Planning & Execution: Develop a monthly calendar of activities including movies, games, crafts, and field trips, tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.
  • Resident Engagement: Identify and address residents' spiritual, social, and recreational needs through regular interviews and family consultations.
  • Skill Development: Encourage residents to participate in activities that foster physical and educational growth.
  • Resident Support: Oversee resident shopping requests, manage the smoking program, and assist with handling resident mail.
  • Collaboration with Nursing Staff: Ensure residents' chosen activities align with their care plans and physicians' orders.
  • Council & Documentation: Facilitate monthly resident council meetings and maintain accurate activity records in PCC.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Activity Director (NCCAP preferred) with experience in Long-Term Care or prior experience working under a Certified Activity Director.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of elderly residents.
