WHO WE WANT! We're looking for an Activity and Wellness Director that is responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and leadership of the Assisted Living activity program. This role emphasizes holistic wellness, spiritual development, recreation, educational enrichment, and active community involvement for all residents. WHAT YOU WILL DO! Design and lead group and individual activities for residents, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and maintaining accurate records.

  • Develop and execute activities that comply with community policies and state regulations.
  • Track and document resident participation in activities.
  • Collaborate with residents to gather feedback and incorporate innovative ideas.
  • Oversee holiday decorations, bulletin board updates, and the maintenance of activity rooms, including setup and cleanup.
  • Promote the community through activities and events.
  • Create and distribute a monthly newsletter and activity calendar to residents, families, and prospects.
  • Engage residents and families in volunteer opportunities and establish volunteer programs within the local community.
  • Participate in professional development workshops.
  • Train and orient new volunteers.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training sessions as required by state regulations.
  • Assist with new resident orientation, including completing the Resident's Social Profile.
  • Ensure strict adherence to residents' rights and report any violations.
  • Serve as part of the management team, including on duty manager responsibilities, presenting the community, and participating in staff meetings and community events.
  • Facilitate Resident Council Meetings.
  • Provide transportation for residents to scheduled activities and appointments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and the Activity Assistant (if applicable).
Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Dependability and reliability in all responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Certification as an Activity and Wellness Director per state licensure guidelines preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • General understanding of senior care needs.
  • Ability to work in an environment that supports resident care without posing a safety or health risk to self or others.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate weekend and evening programs.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to foster a collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Regular reaching and dexterity tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
