Are you a top Controls Technician ready for the next challenge in your career? Trane, a worldwide leader in HVAC and Building Automations, is seeking an ACES Controls Field Engineer to support our commercial customers. You can be located anywhere in the Continental United States for this role.

As an ACES Controls Field Engineer, you will be a senior member of the Centralized Services ACES (Automation & Controls Expert Services) Team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling to and assisting Trane commercial and independent sales offices with building automation system design, programming, checkout, and commissioning, including hardware and software validation.
  • Applying sound engineering principles to assigned projects.
  • Collaborating with project teams to assist Project Managers, Controls Project Specialists, and Field Technicians.
  • Designing, testing, and validating new, existing, and legacy products and systems.
  • This role requires 75%+ travel, primarily within the US, with potential international travel.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Configuring, programming, and commissioning complex building automation systems.
  • Maintaining installation and programming standards.
  • Gaining expertise in Trane Controls and third-party devices.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and providing remote support.
  • Advising and guiding field personnel and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Qualifications:

    • 5+ years in HVAC as a Controls Technician, Building Automation Specialist, or similar role (preferred).
    • Proficiency in HVAC and building automation system operation and design.
    • Experience with Trane or similar control systems (preferred).
    • 2+ years in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field (preferred).
    • Valid driver's license with no major violations.
    • Ability to travel 75%+.

    This is a Safety Sensitive position.

    Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 annually (based on experience and location).

    Physical and Environmental Requirements:

    • Ability to operate a vehicle and wear safety gear.
    • Physical ability to perform tasks involving bending, lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
