CUNYs Accelerate, Complete, Engage (ACE) program helps students to stay on track and graduate by providing a range of financial, academic, and personal supports, including personalized advisement, career counseling, waivers for tuition and additional financial assistance to cover the cost of textbooks and transportation.
The ACE Career Specialist (CS) at Lehman College serves as a resource to ACE students and their student advisors with regard to the development of professional skills and competencies, as well as career-related and co-curricular opportunities, including internships, externships, and research opportunities. The CS coordinates career-focused events and activities, such as career/industry panels and networking opportunities through partnership with student clubs/organizations, community partners, faculty, and college administrators. In collaboration with their student advisors, CS monitors student progress toward developing critical career readiness skills and competencies. In addition to serving as a key liaison for career/professional development and internship at the College, CS represents Lehman College at Career Specialist meetings at the CUNY ASAP|ACE Central Office. Reporting to the ACE Program Director, the Career Specialist is a member of an integrated college team and has the responsibility of developing and coordinating career development and learning activities aimed at supporting students academic, pre professional, and post-graduation success.

Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline and four years relevant professional experience, with one year directly related to providing career guidance.

Provides educational programs, academic advice, and counseling assistance to students in one of CUNYs comprehensive support programs. Provides advice and counsel to students covering academic, social, career, and related issues, making appropriate referrals as needed. Determines areas of need and develops and teaches orientation programs, seminars, student workshops, and other activities. Develops interventions related to student academic status and success. Reports on activities and outcomes, assisting with report-writing and data collection. Collaborates with academic and student support departments to ensure students are utilizing available services and programming. Performs related duties as assigned.
CUNY Title Higher Education Assistant FLSA Exempt
Compensation and Benefits: $74,490 - $82,663, salary commensurate with education and experience.
