Job Purpose The Accreditation and Policy Specialist supports the agency's compliance and quality improvement efforts through the coordination of accreditation readiness activities and the management of the agency's policy management system. This position plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring documentation aligns with current standards, and facilitating consistent, timely updates across all departments. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare administration, social work, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with accreditation (e.g., CARF, DMH, CCBHC) and policy management
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards in behavioral health
- Familiarity with policy management platforms (e.g., PolicyTech)
Core Job Duties
- Coordinate agency efforts to prepare for accreditation and certification surveys, including CARF, DMH, and CCBHC
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of internal audit and mock survey tools
- Track accreditation timelines and ensure all documentation is current and compliant
- Serve as administrator for the PolicyTech system, ensuring policies are properly updated, assigned, archived, and approved
- Work collaboratively with department leaders to ensure policies reflect current practices, standards, and regulations
- Monitor policy review schedules and facilitate timely review and revision cycles
- Develop and deliver training or technical support for staff on use of the policy system and accreditation-related processes
- Provide regular reports on policy compliance and accreditation readiness to the QI Officer and executive team
- Maintain accurate records of policy changes, survey results, and corrective actions
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency's certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
