Job Title: Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Hybrid – Work from Home 3 Days/Week

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 (flexible based on experience); medical, dental, vision, 401K, competitive PTO

Summary:

Are you a proactive and independent thinker with strong AR and accounting skills? Our client is seeking a Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist / Sr. Accountant to join their tight-knit accounting team. This position is open due to an internal promotion and offers an excellent blend of traditional accounting and hands-on AR responsibilities. This is a hybrid role (WFM 3 days/week) ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, especially with experience in retail or consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and review AR aging; follow up on past due balances
• Post and apply daily bank receipts and process credit card payments
• Identify, investigate, and resolve chargebacks and payment discrepancies
• Research and document disputes in collaboration with internal departments
• Ensure invalid or unauthorized deductions are recovered
• Participate in the month-end close process, including journal entries and AR ledger reconciliation

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in AR, collections, or accounting
• Strong Excel skills – proficient in VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and IF formulas
• Confident making journal entries and contributing to the close process
• Self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with retail clients such as Macy's, Nordstrom, Target, Amazon, or HBC
• Knowledge of RLM or similar ERP/accounting software
• Background in consumer goods, wholesale, or department store environments
