Accounts Receivable & Collections SpecialistLocation: Roanoke, VA (Onsite only) About the Role: As an Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist, you will play a key role in our finance team by ensuring timely and accurate billing, maintaining customer account health, and driving collections efforts to optimize cash flow. This position supports both internal operational alignment and external client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner for services rendered and products sold.
  • Verify billing data for completeness and accuracy, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports; proactively follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Initiate and manage collection activities, including direct communication with customers to resolve overdue accounts.
  • Escalate delinquent accounts appropriately and assist in setting up payment arrangements when needed.
  • Communicate with internal teams to ensure billing and collections data aligns with project and contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile discrepancies and resolve customer payment inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company billing and collections policies.
  • Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable and collections.
Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing background preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
  • Strong experience with A/R systems, collection tracking tools, and data entry.
  • Proven ability to manage collection calls and emails professionally and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal collaboration and external client engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
