JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for organizing and performing the Accounts Receivable functions for the overall Community at Rockridge, including the resident admissions and discharge processes for residents in regards to billing and the computer-based billing program. Is responsible for guiding and being a liaison with the Corporate Office, appropriate department heads, family members and residents. The position is also responsible for recommending new and revised policies and procedures and recommending solutions to problems in administrative functions that relate to Resident Accounting.

Reports to the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Normally has an Associates Degree in business or health care administration or equivalent, plus 3-5 years of experience in health care, primarily in finance/accounting functions, and resident records.
  • Computer skills must include word processing, internet navigation and spread sheet applications.
  • Experience with financial and health care software packages is preferred.
  • Experience working with older adults, excellent presentation and communication skills. Preferred skills include experience with rest homes, to include, securing payment coverage through EAEDC/SSI and third party billing.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use MatrixCare LPC to manage and record A/R data.
  • Complete monthly billing and issue resident statements promptly.
  • Process deposits and allocate funds accurately.
  • Assist residents/families with EAEDC and SSI applications and renewals; submit required documents to DTA.
  • Track settlement sheets and confirm receipt of all payments; send to Corporate with any additional info.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for EAEDC payments and notify families of changes.
  • Update system for changes in income/assets affecting benefits.
  • Maintain list of residents on assistance and ensure EAEDC/SSI checks are signed on time.
  • Manage Resident Personal Funds accounts; distribute cash and notify families for replenishment.
  • Advise department heads on A/R policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure correct billing for care and services.
  • Submit LTC insurance claims and confirm receipt by residents or Rockridge.
  • Generate and process resident refunds, including Entrance Fees, with proper approvals.
  • Create and update resident face sheets; distribute to relevant staff.
  • Record all admissions and discharges in MatrixCare LPC.
  • Post and communicate annual rate changes 60+ days in advance.
  • Complete month-end close by deadlines.
  • Attend departmental and morning meetings.
  • Notify EAEDC/SSI of income changes, hospitalizations, or discharges.
  • Follow safety practices and maintain hazard-free work/resident areas.
  • Promote ethical behavior and resident rights; provide guidance as needed.
  • Assist with fundraising, community networking, and event participation.
