Job Title

Qualifications: High school diploma/GED, Associates Degree in Accounting is preferred. If no degree, at least three years of experience in accounts receivable or general bookkeeping is required. Experience with Quickbooks Desktop and/or Online is preferred. Must have the ability to function well in a team-oriented environment. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which includes a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.

Compensation: Full Time / Hourly

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Process all incoming payments, applying cash receipts to proper accounts.
  • Generate and send accurate customer invoices and statements.
  • Follow up on outstanding receivables per collections policy as needed.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and provide customer support on billing issues.
  • Prepare accounts receivable aging reports on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable accounts and customer deposits.
  • Set up new customer accounts and maintain master records.
  • Update customer information, payment terms, pricing as needed.
  • Process customer refunds and credits per established procedures.
  • Process deposits received from various facilities, using various systems in the process.
  • Assist with month-end, year-end, audit preparation, and other accounting and/or office administration tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to internal controls and accounting best practices.
  • Act as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
  • Attend all meetings as required by supervisors.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and ethics, working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel, and Community.
  • Exhibit proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. However, some flexibility is required during festivals and special events, which may occasionally include evenings or weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Working Environment: The work area is well lighted, ventilated, and heated. Occasionally work outdoors where there is a potential to be exposed to various weather conditions.

Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, stooping and carrying of light items may be required. Must be able to lift twenty-five pounds without assistance.
