Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for handling all accounts receivable related activities for the section to ensure a smooth full cycle accounting process is executed on a monthly basis: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in Accounting or related program of study preferred, can substitute experience for education.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Accounting related field.
  • Must be able to work independently and use problem solving, analytical, and communication skills to oversee the daily activities and make decisions to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Analyze current business practices, find flaws, make improvements, and standardize.
  • Meet deadlines set forth by management.
  • Work in a cross cultural environment and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and business partners.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure transactions follow IFRS accounting standards and division/corporate SOPs
  • Responsible for month-end cut-off with transactions recorded in proper period and proper GL account
  • Generate Customer Invoices, Credit Memos and Cash applications as needed
  • Enter accruals and journal entries
  • Enter inventory adjustments
  • Assist with semi-annual inventory count quantity reconciliation
  • Assist Accounting Supervisor during internal control audits and year-end financial audits
  • Assist in establishing within the section to promote consistency and best practices
  • Additional tasks will be assigned by management as needed
  • Conduct weekly meeting with section managers to go over customer accounts that are past due
