Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk to join our accounting team. The AR Clerk will be responsible for processing customer invoices, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall cash flow management. Experience in the construction industry or with progress billing and job costing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, generate, and distribute customer invoices, including progress and T&M billings

• Apply customer payments accurately to accounts

• Follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve payment discrepancies

• Maintain and update AR aging reports and support collections efforts

• Assist with monthly closing processes and reconcile AR ledger

• Communicate with internal project managers and external clients regarding billing questions

• Maintain organized records for audits and compliance purposes

• Support job costing and contract tracking, as needed

• Ensure compliance with lien releases and retainage requirements

Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounts receivable experience, construction industry preferred

• Knowledge of AIA billing, lien releases, and retainage is a strong plus

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Viewpoint, Sage 300, or similar)

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
