Job DetailsJob Location Headquarters - New York, NY Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $55000.00 - $80000.00 Salary/year DescriptionPosition Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our Finance team within the dynamic consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working alongside another AR Analyst, this role plays a critical function in managing the order-to-cash process, including customer payment processing, chargeback resolution, promotion tracking, and accrual management. This person will partner closely with the Sales and Trade Marketing teams, utilize tools such as Oracle Fusion and Oracle Analytics, and help ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all receivables-related transactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer payments via ACH and check, ensuring timely and accurate cash application to open invoices.
- Issue credit and debit memos as needed based on validated discrepancies, pricing issues, and trade promotions.
- Investigate and resolve customer chargebacks, short payments, and disputed invoices in collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics.
- Partner with Sales and Trade teams to track promotions, validate deductions, and ensure appropriate support for claimed offers.
- Own the promotion accrual process, ensuring accurate and timely accrual entries tied to trade activity and customer contracts.
- Monitor and maintain aging reports, following up with customers to reduce outstanding balances and improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Use Oracle Fusion and Oracle Analytics to extract, analyze, and report on customer payment trends, trade activity, and AR KPIs.
- Support the monthly close process by preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses related to AR and trade spend.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and controls are properly maintained.
- Help optimize and document AR processes, contributing to automation and efficiency efforts across the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant AR experience, preferably in a CPG, retail, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cash application, credit/debit memos, and promotion/chargeback workflows.
- Experience working with Oracle Fusion and Oracle Analytics (or similar ERP/reporting systems).
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with large datasets.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally, especially with Sales, Trade, and Customer Service.
- Highly organized, process-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with EDI transactions, retailer deduction codes, and distributor portals (e.g., Walmart, Amazon, UNFI, KeHE).
- Exposure to trade promotion management (TPM) tools or processes.
- Prior experience working with brokers, retailers, or large distributor accounts.
