LHH is partnering with a small company to find a temporary to hire Accounts Payable Specialist. This person will be responsible for handling invoice processing, check runs, and vendor account reconciliations. There will be an opportunity to cross train and learn other tasks in the accounting department, but you will be the sole person responsible for AP. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of accounting experience and have high attention to detail. This role is fully onsite in the Kent, WA office but free parking is offered. Responsibilities
- Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and appropriate documentation
- Prepare and execute weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account issues
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Support the accounting team by cross-training and assisting with additional tasks as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls for the AP process
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Two or more years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team
