Job Description :
Summary GMT Corporation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the overall accounts payable process, month-end close and audit processes. As our company scales, you will also play an important part in identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation in a timely manner
  • Properly code invoices to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and alignment with accounting policies
  • Prepare and process payments in a timely manner according to payment terms.
  • Manage vendor relationships by maintaining vendor accounts, handling inquiries and resolving invoice/payment discrepancies
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and documents
  • Complete daily bank reconciliation and research discrepancies to ensure accuracy
  • Identify inefficiencies in current AP workflows and propose improvements to streamline invoice processing and reduce manual entry
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of scalable AP processes and procedures
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial workpapers and provide support as needed during audits.
  • Manage the annual preparation and filing of 1099 forms in compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.

QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Experience in invoicing with large OEM manufacturers (Preferred)
  • Two (2) years accounting degree from an accredited technical school (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
  • Experience with accounting software (Syteline a plus) and strong Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Serves as a role model and represents GMT Corporation inside and outside the Company to promote GMT's values and build up strong community relationships.
Communication Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office applications.
  • Job requires knowledge and understanding of Company's Syteline MRS.
